The Priesthood of Jupiter
The Most Noble College of the Sacred Priesthood of the Divine Jupiter is composed of those men and women who have been admitted by the Pontifex Maximus (chief priest) to the rank of Priest of Jupiter. Priests of Jupiter are allowed the following privileges:
What do Priests of Jupiter do?
The Priests of Jupiter are concerned with matters of truth and justice in their own lives and that of wider society. To this end, it is commendable to give time to thought, study and conversation about the arts, sciences and humanities, as well as to those matters affecting society as a whole. This may take place in your work, or free time, or both (ideally). By means of self-improvement, the world around us is improved, as well as ourselves.
The Priests of Jupiter also conduct worship and sacrifice, for which the Rituale Jupiterensis is recommended, based on Catholic forms of worship, which are notable for their beauty and order. This can be done alone, or in the company of others, as opportunity allows. The ceremonies should be done decently and in good order with some provision for a morale or homilium.
Can I be a Priest of Jupiter?
The Priesthood of Jupiter is normally conferred on those who pledge themselves to follow a way of life that honours the culture, history and achievements of the ancients and those they later inspired and who can demonstrate a sufficient standard of character (normally via a criminal record check and/or references) and education (A-level standard, or above) to merit the honour. It is open to all, regardless of sex, race, nationality, sexual orientation, etc. All candidates must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
All are welcome to apply for the Priesthood of the Moon or for the Priesthood of Neptune, which are freely available.
